Draw trials are hooked out of spy-holes in various positions on the wall of the chamber, and when full heat is reached, and the trials indicate that the ware is sufficiently fired, the stoking is moved up to the second chamber, where thin sticks of wood are poked into narrow holes provided at the base of the kiln. |
